Ryan Bishop 94 not out as Shrewsbury thrash Smethwick

Ryan Bishop hit an unbeaten 94 as Shrewsbury found the form that won them the 2010 Birmingham League title and thrashed Smethwick by eight wickets.

Replying to 194-5, Bishop, Joe Leach (51 not out) and Ed Foster (31) took Shrewsbury to an easy victory.

Warwickshire's Ateeq Javed hit 48 in West Bromwich Dartmouth's 188, but Wellington could only muster 143.

Aussie Chris Brabazon hit 112 as Shifnal racked up 257-3 before rain saved Dorridge on 156-7.

Jonty Mountford took 5-55 for Shifnal.

Bridgnorth looked likely to see off Harborne after reducing their opponents to 30-4, 48-6 and 84-7, but defiance from the tail and some wayward bowling saw Harborne reach 165.

Bridgnorth were in real trouble at 20-6, but a defiant half century from Ryan Lockley plus 24 from Gareth Mountford made a game of it before the Shropshire side fell short on 131.

Whitchurch struggled to 170 all out against Aston Manor, but Aqsad Ali followed a gutsy innings of 43 with excellent figures of 5-23 as Manor were put away for 124.

Oswestry could only make 111 as they lost by seven wickets at home to Barnards Green, while St. George's grabbed a winning draw at Sutton Coldfield, their 149-9 (Anuj Chandla 45) enough in a rain-affected response to the home side's 184.

In the Marston's Shropshire Premier League, Bomere Heath Bomere Heath remain 20 points clear at the top after a two-wicket win against Allscott.

Allscott 209, Bomere Heath 212-8. Bomere Heath win by two wickets.

Newtown 63, Quatt 65-3. Quatt win by seven wickets.

Broseley 149-9, Reman Services 150-0. Reman's win by ten wickets.

Newport 182-8, Madeley 145. Newport win by 37 runs.
