Scarborough Athletic have named Rudy Funk as their new manager after Paul Olsson left the club by mutual consent.
Funk joins Athletic from Shirebrook Town and he has also managed at Rainworth and Eastwood Town.
He has won three promotions as a manager since 2007 and the club board said he has the ability to attract quality players to the club.
Olsson was manager from November 2010 when he took over from Brian France who left the job because of illness.
The Scarborough Athletic board felt that Olsson was not able to lead the club where they wanted to take it although a top half finish in the Northern Counties East League Premier division is likely.
A statement on the club website said: "He [Funk] fulfils our conditions for operating within a tight financial and logistical framework, respects the club, loves the fans and has the ambition, the professionalism and the strength of character to take the club forward.
"Rudy has utterly convinced us of his passion for the club, and we feel he will become a popular choice with our fan base.
"He will be meeting up with the players before the Pickering game and we hope everyone can get behind him and the team as we enter a new and exciting era."
