Scarborough Athletic manager Paul Olsson wants his side to learn from this season's experiences and find more consistency in their form.
The Seadogs are currently 10th in the Northern Counties East Premier Division with 10 games to play but Olsson admitted he is already looking ahead.
He told BBC Radio York: "We've had some good results but we've dropped points against teams we should probably beat.
"We've got strive for that next year and towards the end of the season."
Olsson took over as manager in November after a period in temporary charge when Brian France stepped down because of health reasons.
Hopefully (we can) strengthen in the summer and we can come out and be stronger next year

He added: "We're starting to look towards next season but we want to finish as high as we can. There's still a chance of doing that.
"We should be able to stick together. It's difficult keeping a squad because if players are out of the 16 they tend to go elsewhere and get a game and that's the reality of managing and playing at this level.
"But we've done really well. Out of the last 12 games we've won 8. We need a bit of consistency and to grind out results.
"Sometimes you aren't going to play well but you need to grind out a result. We need to learn that and hopefully strengthen in the summer and we can come out and be stronger next year."
