Boston United's all-time record appearance holder Paul Bastock has returned to York Street.

The 40-year-old goalkeeper becomes new caretaker bosses Jason Lee and Lee Canoville's first signing at the Blue Square Bet North club.

Bastock made 625 senior appearances for the club between 1992 and 2004 and still lives in the town.

The fans' favourites, who has left St Albans after seven seasons, comes in as regular keeper Dan Haystead is injured.

The Pilgrims have also extended defender Kevin Austin's loan from Darlington until the end of the season.
