Salem failed to score in six games at Stockport County
AFC Telford United striker Yannick Salem says he has made big sacrifices to play for the Bucks, leaving his family behind in Paris.
The Congo international, 27, has played for Grenoble in France and De Graafschap in the Netherlands and recently had a spell at Stockport.
"I'm happy at Telford, I make the sacrifice because it's my job," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Sacrifice is natural for me, I just want to be professional."
Telford manager Andy Sinton signed Salem after speaking to former Stockport manager Paul Simpson, who first brought the forward over to England. Following Simpson's exit, Yannick fell out of favour at County.
"He's sorted his own accommodation out here in Telford, moving away from his family and that's highly commendable, he's really keen," said Sinton.
Salem has won three international caps playing against Morocco, Angola and Zambia.
"My family's back in Paris. I'm a traveller, wherever I go I just want to be happy, it's great to meet lots of people to learn different cultures," he said.
"I hope we'll be champions, it will be good for the local area. I will do my best, I know what I can do."
Telford play Worcester City on Saturday as they continue their push for the league title. The Bucks are currently fourth, two points behind league leaders Nuneaton.
They welcome back defender Sam Stockley, who had previously trained with them before moving to Droylsden. They put a seven-day notice in to the Manchester side.
