Telford boss Andy Sinton was delighted with the victory
AFC Telford came out on top in the battle of the Blue Square Bet North title rivals, beating Alfreton 2-1.
In a nervy first half, Shane Killock headed Telford in front right on the break from a Greg Mills corner.
The Bucks upped a gear in the second half, visiting keeper Chris McKenzie pulling off two excellent stops, and then saving Alex Meechan's penalty.
Andy Brown made it 2-0 in injury time - but Scott Garner banged one in at the other end to ensure an edgy finish.
"What a performance - I thought we were great," Telford boss Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"We were immense in the second half, and thoroughly deserved to win."
The result lifts Telford above Alfreton to second in the table, five points behind leaders Nuneaton with three games in hand.
The defeat was Alfreton's first on the road this season - but the Derbyshire side in fourth place are still very much in the promotion hunt with seven games in hand on the leaders.
