Poole Town boss Tom Killick hopeful of new stadium
The facilities at Tatnam Park have cost Poole Town promotion
Poole manager Tom Killick says he is confident his side will have a new ground by the start of next season.
Poole have won the Wessex Premier League in each of the last two seasons, but have been denied promotion to the Zamaretto League because of the facilities at their Tatnam Park home.
"We have plans for a new ground and I'm confident we'll get it," Killick told BBC Radio Solent.
"Our ground doesn't meet the criteria for the level above but our directors are working hard so we hope it's third time lucky."
Poole have enquired about a ground share with several local clubs including Wimborne Town, Hamworthy United and League One outfit Bournemouth.
But the Dolphins' proposals have been turned down and they have since lodged an application for promotion to the Zamaretto League with the Football Association.
"We've won the league for the past two seasons by a comfortable margin but because our ground didn't meet the criteria for the level above we were prevented from getting promotion," added Killick.
"So it's been frustrating because we've had to face up to scenario that the team who has come second by quite a big distance behind us have gone up."
Poole, who are unbeaten in 41 league games, currently sit third in the Wessex Premier Division, six points behind leaders Winchester City with six games in hand.
"Our season so far has been really good, we've played 17 matches and haven't lost in league. If we win the games in hand we'll be 12 points clear at the top," said Killick.
"I'm proud of the record we have and the players deserve an enormous amount of credit, but we just want to concentrate on finishing the season strongly so we can get out of the league we're in."
