Kent football results and summary

Tom Phipp
Phipp has been with Ebbsfleet's youth team for two years

Ebbsfleet United moved up to sixth place in Blue Square Bet South with a 3-2 win over Dorchester.

Fleet had the game sewn up early, thanks to two goals from Tom Phipp and one from Michael West, both products of the club's youth team.

Phipp told BBC Radio Kent: "Had I tried that on the training ground, they would have gone here, there and everywhere but fortunately they went in."

Welling beat Staines 4-0 to go third, but Dartford lost 1-0 to Thurrock.

The Darts' fourth straight defeat leaves them in the relegation zone.

"It plays on the players' minds and supporters' minds," said manager Tony Burman. "But we haven't got through half the season yet.

"Hopefully, we don't do anything silly and we keep plugging away.

"The league doesn't lie, it hasn't worked out. You have to change things which we'll endeavour to do.

"I was disappointed with the players at Welling but today I can't fault the players' efforts, it just didn't pan out the way we wanted it to."

Maidstone United grabbed a much-needed Ryman Premier Division away win, 2-1 at Hastings - their first victory in eight games.

Ford told BBC Radio Kent: "It was a win that was needed a long time ago.

"It was a good performance, especially second half. We created seven chances in the second half and missed a penalty.

"We haven't been playing very well. We've been putting fires out, but the last 45 minutes is a real positive for me."

Tonbridge beat fellow promotion chasers Bury Town 2-1 to move up to eighth.

Chatham, who drew 4-4 at home to Merstham, and Ramsgate, who drew 1-1 at Chipstead, were the only Kent sides to take a point in Ryman Division One South.

Meanwhile, Beckenham Town are out of the FA Vase after conceding a late goal at home to Kings Lynn Town, while Herne Bay extended their lead at the top of the Kent League to seven points with a 2-0 win at Deal Town.
