Birchall scored against Gillingham and Aldershot in the FA Cup
Dover Athletic warmed up for their FA Cup third round tie at Huddersfield with a 7-2 thrashing of Thurrock in Blue Square Bet South.
Striker Adam Birchall scored five goals to take his tally to 29 for the season.
Whites manager Martin Hayes told BBC Radio Kent: "It's nice to score seven especially before this Saturday. A win's a win but 7-2 is great.
"I wanted them to give me a headache because obviously everyone wants to play on Saturday."
Hayes continued: "I've got a strong squad and it was a chance to rotate and put three or four back in and I was pleased with the attitude.
"We passed it well, created lots of chances, worked hard and it was a good overall performance."
Hayes has tried to keep talk of their impending FA Cup tie to a minimum over the last month - as they strive to get promotion for the third time in four years.
But following their best win of the season, he is now happy to focus on creating another upset - this time against the League One high flyers.
"We can think about Huddersfield now and I can start doing a little bit of homework and start planning what we're going to do," he said.
"But we've only got one session though unfortunately.
"It's really just about us though and I want the lads to go out and enjoy the occasion and, like they did at Gillingham and Aldershot, give a good account of themselves and who knows."
Elsewhere in Blue Square Bet South, Ebbsfleet United's unbeaten away record was ended at leaders Braintree.
The Fleet lost 4-2 for their first league defeat in 13 games.
But manager Liam Daish was reluctant to criticise his players after a great first half of the season.
"I'm a realist and I know that I'm not going to go through the whole season without losing a game so it was going to come," he told BBC Radio Kent.
"I would have preferred it a little bit later and not against Braintree.
"But the lads have done magnificently up until now and I'm not going to chastise them and have a go at them for their efforts."
Bromley held on the second place in the table after their 4-3 win over Bishops Stortford - Leon McKenzie with a hat-trick.
Welling United remain fifth following their 3-1 win at Lewes.
But Dartford's poor form continued as they were beaten 2-1 by Chelmsford City to leave them 19th in the table.
