Rushden & Diamonds defender Kurt Robinson has joined Chelmsford City on a month's loan.
The 21-year-old has made 12 Blue Square Bet Premier appearances for Diamonds this season.
"There's some personal reasons why he's gone there," Rushden boss Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton.
"But he felt that he wasn't playing as much as he'd like and it's an opportunity for him to get some games and maybe secure a longer deal."
He added: "That suits both parties. He goes there to get some games and we'll see where we go from there.
"I was spoilt for choice there, and I feel I have the best left-back in the division in Jamie Day, and Kurt hasn't been able to take his place."
Robinson arrived at Nene Park on loan from Ipswich Town in January 2009 and signed permanently after seeing out his contract at Portman Road.
He has played 77 games for Rushden, scoring his only goal in a 9-0 win over Weymouth in February 2009.
Chelmsford are currently seventh in the Blue Square Bet South.
