Kidderminster 2-3 Newport County

Craig Reid
Craig Reid is Newport County's 15-goal top-scorer this season

Paul Bignot returned to haunt his old club Kidderminster as his first Newport County goal sent Dean Holdsworth's side second in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Striker Craig Reid slotted the visitors in front from Eddie Odhiambo's pass before Tom Shaw put through his own net to give County a 2-0 lead at the break.

Matty Blair headed in a Callum Gittings cross to pull one back before Jamille Matt fired in from 20 yards to level.

Bignot, though, converted Reid's cross from close range to win it.

The right-back's late winner spared County keeper Glyn Thompson's blushes - and earned Newport their first away league win for more than two months - as his fumbles cost the visitors their commanding half-time lead.

Gittings's free-kick was missed by Thompson, allowing Blair to net, before Matt's shot squirmed under the usually reliable County keeper.

But goalscorer Reid, who had earlier taken his season's tally to 15 goals, turned provider as Bignot rammed home the first goal of his 18-month Newport career since his switch from Kidderminster.

Bignot's winner ended Kidderminster's eight-match unbeaten streak in the league and a proud unbeaten home league record that stretched back to 21 August.
