Kidderminster Harriers have signed 21-year-old Sutton Coldfield Town striker Jamille Matt on non-contract terms.
Harriers boss Steve Burr has been watching Matt for some time and feels the striker has potential.
"He is a young lad who is a big strong unit and has genuine pace to burn," Burr told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"He has his opportunity now and hopefully by our working with him we can improve him and he can push onto the next level."
Matt is a product of the Sutton Coldfield Town youth set-up and netted 15 times for the first team last season.
He has followed that up with six goals in 19 appearances in the current campaign.
The striker arrives at Aggborough in the best possible form after netting a hat-trick in the 7-2 thumping of Goole at the weekend.
Matt also impressed during a behind-closed-doors friendly match against Harriers in which he also found the back of the net.
Burr says the initial deal is on a non-contract basis and now it is up to the 21-year-old to make the most of his opportunity.
"For me that is the best way to do it - we can get the lad into this environment and work with him," he said.
"Sutton have done a fantastic job with him to bring him on and hopefully we can continue his push, albeit at a higher level.
"We have been watching him over a number of weeks - he has the experience of knowing how physical non-league football can be."
