Forshaw joined the Trawler Boys in February 2010 from Ebbsfleet
In true cup tradition Lowestoft Town progressed in the FA Trophy at the expense of Swindon Supermarine, thanks to a 90th-minute winner from substitute Jamie Forshaw.
It was a dramatic end to the game but up until that point the Blues looked set for a draining mid-week trip to Wiltshire, although a replay was the last thing either side needed.
For Lowestoft it would certainly have been inconvenient given the 450-mile round trip they would endure, while Marine have a big FA Cup second round tie against Colchester United to consider this weekend.
In a first half generally dominated by the visitors Lowestoft only held the lead for a minute after Joe Francis's strike was cancelled out immediately, although they had a stone-wall penalty appeal turned down when Dale Cockrill had his legs taken from under him.
The Trawler Boys did improve after the break but had to wait until that late, decisive moment to take their place in the first round proper.
Monday's draw would seem to have been rather kind because they have avoided the Blue Square Bet Premier 'big guns' and they have another home draw, against Uxbridge, on 11 December.
They play a level lower in Zamaretto Division One Central but there is a word of warning because they beat Blue Square Bet South side Maidenhead United on Saturday.
There were more dropped points on the road for King's Lynn Town in the UCL Premier.
The Linnets showed character to come back from behind twice but ultimately were held to a 2-2 draw at St Ives Town, while in the Ridgeons Premier Dereham Town extended their lead.
The Magpies returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win at Newmarket Town and are now seven points clear of second placed Wroxham, who were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw by lowly Brantham Athletic. The game at Trafford Park also saw four players sent off - one for Wroxham, three for Brantham.
