Proudlock celebrates the goal that gave Teford a 1-0 win against Workington
Adam Proudlock's fifth goal in three games earned AFC Telford a narrow Blue Square Bet North win over Workington.
The former Wolves striker pounced in the six-yard box on 55 minutes to break the visitors' resistance.
In a game of few chances, Greg Mills clipped the bar for Telford, while Ryan Bowman headed over for the visitors.
"I'm delighted with the three points," Telford boss Andy Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire. "We weren't at our best, but good sides can grind out a result."
Phil Trainer put the ball wide in the first five minutes after good work by Mills, and then Mills put a free-kick over the top.
As Telford grew frustrated, Workington created three good chances before half-time - Bowman's header flashing over from a corner, and Lee Andrews and Shaun Vipond testing home keeper Ryan Young.
Proudlock's goal knocked the stuffing out of the Cumbrians, but Telford failed to press home any advantage and in the end were happy to settle for the single-goal win.
"It keeps us in the mix, and keeps up that winning mentality" Sinton added.
