Banbury United overcame local rivals Abingdon United 3-2 at Northcourt Road to reach the second round of the Southern League Cup.
The Puritians let a two-goal lead slip but grabbed a late winner from Ross Oulton with four minutes remaining.
Also in the competition Oxford City earned a second victory of the season with a 2-1 home win over Thatcham.
The match was level at 1-1 after 90 minutes and Andy Ballard netted the winner for City in extra time.
North Leigh's game at Cirencester also went to extra time with the Oxfordshire side eventually losing 6-4 in an entertaining match in Gloucestershire.
Didcot Town's disappointing home form continued with a 2-1 defeat to Chippenham Town at Loop Meadow.
