New Thurrock manager Greg Lincoln does not think his age will hinder his chances of succeeding in the job.
The 30-year-old former Arsenal trainee was named as Hakan Hayrettin's replacement last week.
Lincoln told BBC Essex: "It's the way people are going, my friend Jamie Day at Welling has done a fantastic job.
"In the league, Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall are doing very well at Bournemouth and Paul Buckle, all young up-and-coming innovative managers."
His first game in charge ended in a Blue Square Bet South defeat at Braintree.
Thurrock have a weekend without a match and Lincoln says he is going to use the time to work on the squad's fitness.
"If you're team is fit you give yourself a great chance, I think the boys could be fitter," he added.
