AFC Telford boss Andy Sinton looks to strengthen squad
Telford United manager Andy Sinton is concerned by the number of injuries
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton is looking to strengthen his injury-hit squad ahead of the new league campaign.
Sinton has already lost winger Sean Evans after breaking his leg against Wolves in a pre-season friendly.
Strikers Andy Brown, Danny Carey Bertram and defender Sean Newton are also injured.
"I'm looking at two or three players in training. I'm trying to bring in a centre-back," Sinton told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"Stuart Whitehead will miss the first few games with work commitments so I need cover.
"I also need cover in the full back area because I have two right backs coming back from injury and my left back Sean Newton has a knock, but I don't have cover in that area anyway."
Sean Evans is fit, he's young, he's got determination and with a bit of luck he'll be back
Bucks boss Andy Sinton
Sinton saw three of his players pick up injuries in the midweek home friendly against Wolves Development Squad, chiefly Evans, who was taken to hospital with a double leg break.
The 23-year-old former Manchester United reserve has had an operation after fracturing both his tibia and fibula.
"Sean is fit, he's young, he's got determination and with a bit of luck he'll be back," said Sinton. "We'll get him the best rehabilitation possible.
"He's my player and I'll do all I can to help him."
Telford start their Blue Square Bet North campaign against Hyde at the Bucks Head on Saturday.
