AFC Telford United assistant manager Darren Read says the club remain hopeful they can keep hold of midfielder Phil Trainer.
Trainer, 28, initially joined Telford on loan in January 2009 from Oxford United, before signing a contract with the club last summer.
"Phil's an exciting player, he's a match winner," newly appointed Read told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"We're hopeful we can keep hold of him, he's a creative player."
Trainer scored 10 goals from midfield last season but Read believes there is plenty more to come.
"We feel as a management team that we haven't seen the best of Phil yet. We can work with him and improve his game," he added.
Trainer will hold talks with manager Andy Sinton when pre-season training starts on Tuesday.
The Bucks are also holding talks with striker Steve Thompson and defender Adam Dugdale.
