Geoff Todd is standing down as Bath City chairman in the hope that new investment can be found for the Blue Square Bet Premier newcomers.
The 58-year-old has been at the helm for five years, overseeing Bath's climb back into non-league's top tier after a play-off victory over Woking.
Todd, who has been a supporter since 1961, told the Bath Chronicle: "It is the right time for me to stand down.
"A new chairman coming in can breathe new energy, new fire and new ideas."
