Kendal boss Ian Kilford hails Unibond play-offs effort
Kendal Town interim manager Ian Kilford has praised the players' efforts after Monday's Unibond Premier Division 2-1 play-off exit to Bradford Park Avenue.
Kilford believes the squad deserve credit after slipping to defeat in their 10th game in just 26 days.
"To consider the amount of games we've had, to be here is unbelievable," Kilford told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We've had Lee's [Ashcroft - manager] ban, injuries, games called off, so the play-offs is a great achievement."
Kilford has led the side since the three-month ban of Lee Ashcroft by the Football Association for using foul and abusive language.
"The lads are disappointed but we've got to look back at what we've achieved over the last four weeks," Kilford said.
"We've had our chance, and Darren Green missed a penalty, but the lads kept on going till the end.
"We've got a good set of lads and we've just got to stick together and build on for next season now."
