Histon have secured their place in the Blue Square Premier next season with a crucial draw against Barrow.
A challenge on Lee Smith by Bluebirds midfielder Carlos Logan earned the home side a first-half penalty, which Glen Southam tucked away.
Barrow hit-back in the second half, James Owen's flick was turned in by Nick Chadwick and a curling strike from Simon Wiles gave the visitors the lead.
But a Paul Jones own goal on 92 minutes handed Histon the point they needed.
Histon's survival went down to the wire as they depended on results from fellow strugglers Forest Green, Eastbourne, Gateshead and Ebbsfleet.
Charlie Sheringham had a number of chances to secure their league status, the striker unlucky to have his first chance blocked by Barrow defender Daniel Sheridan and his second strike produced a great save from keeper Stuart Tomlinson.
The home side piled on the pressure late on but with Gateshead winning and Forest Green being held to a draw, their safety was still up in the air.
Nathaniel Knight-Percival hit the bar before they got their equaliser when Jones headed into his own net two minutes into injury-time.
And with Forest Green going down away at Grays, Histon secured 18th place and non-league football next season.
