Hinckley United's hopes of securing a place in the end-of-season Blue Square North play-offs were shattered by local rivals Alfreton Town on Saturday.
Victory would have seen the Knitters clinch the final play-off spot.
But Dean Thomas's men were beaten 3-2 and Droyslden thumped Redditch 6-1 to sneak into fifth place.
Adam Webster put Hinckley ahead but Alfreton hit back to lead 3-1 and although Dan Dillon pulled a goal back, the hosts held on to win.
