South African Jacques Du Toit hit his second century in limited overs cricket

Jacques Du Toit finished three short of his one-day best as Leicestershire beat Nottinghamshire by 47 runs in their Clydesdale Bank 40 opener.

Du Toit hit 141 off 122 balls out of 282-6 at Grace Road, assisted by 55 from ex-Notts opener Will Jefferson.

In reply, Hashim Amla (53) and Alex Hales (46) gave Notts a good start, but Will White's one-day best of 6-29 saw the visitors tumble to 235 all out.

Skipper Matthew Hoggard took 2-43 on his one-day debut for Leicestershire.
