Harrogate Town have been relegated from Blue Square North after losing 4-0 at home to Corby Town.
The defeat means that Town cannot now catch Redditch, who are one place outside the relegation zone despite having four games remaining.
Manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "It's my first year in management and despite all the circumstances I never thought this would come about.
"All I can do is learn from mistakes and learn about people."
Weaver said the performance in the game against Corby was not good enough and questioned the attitudes of some of his squad.
"I just think it's really symbolic of what's happened recently," he added.
"We've got a decent squad together late-on in the season and, by and large, the signings were offensive players and going forward we looked dangerous.
"But when the ball gets knocked into our box we look like conceding.
"Lads do put 100% in here but there comes a time when you think some people aren't good enough.
"We have to retain people in two weeks time and get them in and one-by-one, people will either be offered something or will be gone.
"You don't want to do that and I've had to do it to so many this season because of circumstance.

"I've given out a few home truths and nothing comes back because they know it's true.
"And yet you think people might be offended when I'm saying 'not good enough, not good enough.' I'm giving them a reason why.
"You wanting a little bit of pride. You're just looking for a little bit of ginger in them.
"We've got that from people like Tom Cahill, Martin Foster and Adam Nowakowski, but that doesn't make up a whole team does it?"
