Luton Town boss Richard Money and midfielder Claude Gnakpa have won the manager and player of the month awards for the Blue Square Premier in March.

Gnakpa, 26, has scored seven goals in seven starts including a hat-trick in the Hatters' 6-1 win at Ebbsfleet.

Money has led Luton from fifth in the league to second and they are now just two points from leaders Stevenage.

Gainsborough boss Brian Little won the North award and Glenn Pennyfather from Chelmsford took the South prize.

Former Aston Villa manager Little took his Trinity side to mid-table safety with 17 points from a possible 21 during the period.

Little told BBC Lincolnshire: "When you think of the position we were in and the pressure we were under not too many weeks back, to produce the form that we have is fantastic.

"The award is secondary in many respects but it's nice to be part of something that's moving in the right direction," he added.

It is the second time in four months that Pennyfather has won the award, with his side in play-off contention having bagged four wins in as many games.

Fleetwood Town striker Adam Warlow was named player of the month in the North after netting seven times in five matches and Welling United striker Lee Clarke was given the South prize for seven goals in six appearances.
