Durham winning run ended by heavy Kendal defeat

Richard Ord
Ord is interim boss at Durham in Lee Collings' absence

Unibond Premier League strugglers Durham City saw their two-match winning run ended by a 5-0 defeat by Kendal Town at Parkside Road on Saturday.

Alex Taylor netted a first-half brace for Kendal and Danny Wisdom extended the lead to 3-0 before the break.

Kendal made it four when Kieran Walmsley scored from the spot and the same player made it five with another penalty with minutes left to play.

City remain bottom of the table, 24 points adrift of Ossett Town.

Durham had previously beaten FC United and Whitby Town in consecutive games.

City's struggles stem from sponsors pulling out after the Football Association confirmed their plastic pitch would not allow them to win promotion to Conference level.

Ex-Sunderland defender Richard Ord is currently in charge at the Esh Group Stadium after manager Lee Collings was suspended for 15 games for fielding an ineligible player.
