Boss Richard Ord confident of Durham City squad promise
Ord is interim boss at Durham in Lee Collings' absence
Durham City interim boss Richard Ord believes the current squad has the potential to achieve success despite being bottom of the Unibond Premier.
Ord's young side have lost 28 games this season, but with two wins in their last two games, the former Sunderland defender sees promise within the ranks.
"There is some great young talent at the club," he told BBC Newcastle.
"If we can tie these kids down for the next couple of years and build a side around them we can hold our own."
Ord added: "The kids have been improving week by week.
"We've been battered but credit to themselves they've deserved their wins."
DURHAM PLIGHT
28 defeats in 30 games
Goals conceded: 141
Goals scored: 22
City's struggles this season stem from sponsors pulling out after the Football Association confirmed their plastic pitch would not allow them to win promotion to Conference level.
Ord's presence at the Esh Group Stadium was brought about by the suspension of manager Lee Collings for fielding an ineligible player.
