Durham City celebrate first win of the season

Elliot Cutts
Cutts grabbed Durham's first winner of the season

Unibond Premier League bottom side Durham City ended a run of 28 consecutive defeats with an impressive 2-1 win at FC United of Manchester.

Despite going a goal down to an early Carlos Roca strike, the Citizens equalised soon after thanks to a 40-yard effort from Andrew Stephenson.

City netted a second in the second half, Elliot Cutts scoring from the spot after Ludovic Quistin's handball.

Durham's first points this season takes them to within 20 of Ossett Town.

City's struggles this season stem from sponsors pulling out after the Football Association confirmed their plastic pitch would not allow them to win promotion to Conference level.
