Danks has scored for Northwich in both games against Telford this season

AFC Telford failed to move into the Blue Square North play-off places after losing 2-0 at Northwich.

Former Telford striker Mark Danks celebrated in style after scoring past a static defence on the half hour.

And Wayne Riley sealed it for the Vics after a fluffed clearance right on half time from Bucks keeper Ryan Young.

"We had the possession in the second half, but we were powder puff in front of goal," Telford boss Rob Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Carl Rodgers had a goal disallowed for the Bucks on the hour before Danks hit a post for Northwich as Telford slipped to their first defeat in six games.

Telford's Steve Thompson hobbled off in the second half with a suspected hamstring problem and could be out for three weeks.
