Lewes boss Steve Ibbitson says he will do everything in his power to keep the club in Blue Square South.

The Rooks, relegated from Blue Square Premier last season, are 20th in the table, separated from safety only by goal difference.

Ibbitson told BBC Sussex: "Sometimes you can be better off doing well in a lower division.

"That's not what we want, this is a very very good league. This is a league we want to play in."

He continued: "The club has worked hard to get into this position, we've worked and fought hard this year to try to keep the club in business and we want to be in business in the Blue Square South.

"I look at that and question whether some of the players do but we certainly do at the club and we're going to do everything we can to try to stay there."
