Worcester City earned themselves a big money tie at home to Kidderminster Harriers in round three of the FA Trophy with victory at Carshalton.

Marc McGregor got two of the City goals, with Marco Adaggio and Rob Davies also on the mark.

But manager Carl Heeley was unhappy with his team's first half showing.

"At half time they got told the level of performance was not good enough and I was not going to tolerate it," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Fair play, second half they have come out, there was probably one error, with the penalty, but after that the game plan worked," he continued.

"We were clinical when we got the ball, put it into good areas, we looked like scoring and it could have been more in the end.

"But we have to start games better, we were far too deep and we gave a lot of fouls away."

The boys deserve a big crowd, they worked hard tonight, they have had to take time off work and in the end we deserved the win

Heeley was grateful to goalkeeper Jake Meredith who made a string of first half saves.

"Jake was outstanding and made a couple of great saves, Alfie Carter looked a threat down the left hand side," he said.

Heeley said they can now look forward to Saturday's game against Harriers.

"It's a local derby, a proper one as they are our local rivals, hopefully a decent crowd and the boys have earned the chance to go and pit their wits against a side from the league above.

"The boys deserve a big crowd, they worked hard tonight, they have had to take time off work and in the end we deserved the win," he said.
