Worcestershire have agreed a deal to sign attacking left-handed batsman and medium pace bowler James Cameron on a two-year contract. Zimbabwe-born Cameron, 23, has spent the last four years playing A grade cricket for University CC in Perth. However, he holds a British passport so is not classed as an overseas player. "James has been highly recommended and was scouted by Matt Mason on a recent trip to Perth," explained director of cricket Steve Rhodes. "We look forward to him arriving in March to prepare for the new season." Cameron, who played one game for Worcestershire's second XI in 2009, is eager to get started at New Road. "I have always dreamed of being a professional cricketer and I am thrilled to take up this opportunity with Worcestershire," he said. "I see it as a real challenge and can't wait to come over in a few weeks' time."
