Weymouth are continuing their search for a new manager after withdrawing their contract offer to ex-Bournemouth and Shrewsbury boss Jimmy Quinn.

Quinn had looked set to take over after Weymouth axed manager Ian Hutchinson and assistant Andy Mason, just two weeks after handing them new deals.

Chairman George Rolls hopes to name a manager before Saturday's Blue Square South game against Worcester City.

Steve Fallon and Leroy Rosenior have both been linked to the job.

Rolls told BBC Radio Solent: "I've got hopefully 42 to 74 hours to appoint a new manager in time for Saturday's game [against Worcester].

"If not then I'll ask the reserve team manager [Dave Kitely] to take the game."

Hutchinson had been in charge of the Blue Square South side since Matty Hale's departure in October, taking over as caretaker boss before being made full-time, along with Mason.

"I decided that Ian wasn't going to be the man to keep Weymouth in the Blue Square South," Rolls said.

"It's my job to do what I feel is right for the club."

Former Cambridge United chairman Rolls, took over at Weymouth in November and saved them from going into administration.

Rolls appointed Hutchinson and assistant Mason on six-month contracts earlier this month, but they failed to lift Weymouth from the bottom of the league, taking just eight points out of a possible 30 in their time in charge.
