Harrogate Town have had to postpone Tuesday's game with Workington after heavy snowfall at the weekend.
Around 20 fans tried to clear the pitch for the initial planned game on 28 December - and then again for his week.
General manager Alan Williams told BBC Radio York: "I certainly believe had we not had this snow over the weekend, the match would have been on.
"We got people down on the Saturday and got the pitch clear and marked out. It's just soul destroying."
Harrogate have not played a home game since the end of November 2009.
We're going to be still playing in July if we're not careful
Alan Williams
"It's soul-destroying for them [the fans], they've come down and put some hard work in when they could have been off (work) with their families," Williams said.
"The referee has to take everything into consideration, not just the snow on the pitch but the snow around the terraces.
"Coming from Workington, if the match starts and it freezes and gets called off, at 10 o'clock at night they've got to travel back in temperatures of minus five or minus six.
"It's frustrating for the manager, it's frustrating for everybody in the north, including Workington.
"We have to try and get matches on, or else we're going to be still playing in July if we're not careful."
