Moses Ashikodi only completed his move to Ebbsfleet earlier in the day
Moses Ashikodi scored from the penalty spot against his old club but he could not stop Kettering Town moving back into the Blue Square Premier top five.
James Dance fired Kettering ahead with his first senior goal, low into the bottom corner, only for Ashikodi to mark his debut by equalising.
He blasted home the penalty after being fouled by Alton Thelwell.
But Jean-Paul Marna struck from 12 yards on 62 minutes to fire the Poppies back up to fifth in the table.
That was Marna's first goal in seven games.
But Scott Ginty was denied an equaliser by visiting keeper Nathan Abbey with 10 minutes left as Kettering won for the first time in four games.
