Blue Square South side Weymouth have accepted an offer for the club which could see them avoid liquidation.
A consortium headed by local businessman Chris Ryan has until 1200 GMT on Monday to complete the deal.
The club's board chose Ryan, who has promised to inject in excess of £150,000 into the club, ahead of former Cambridge United chairman George Rolls.
If the deal is completed then manager Ian Hutchinson has already been assured his job is safe by the consortium.
Hutchinson told BBC Radio Solent: "It seems very positive. Something has to be done sooner rather than later.
"Hopefully by next Monday it'll be all in place and we can move on together as a football club.
"My players have been playing for free for six weeks and we've been assured wages will be coming soon."
