Redditch United manager Gary Whild was delighted by his team's showing in earning a 2-2 draw at Corby Town.
Whild is confident that his young players are learning the lessons of mistakes made earlier in the season.
"We have come away today to a team that is second in the league and I felt we were full value for the point," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester
"The lads are taking things on board and are cutting out mistakes so that is a big positive for me as a manager."
Lucan Spittle gave Redditch the lead on 28 minutes, but it was short-lived as the home side levelled within two minutes through Leon Mattam.

Corby then took the lead two minutes before the interval through the former King's Lynn striker Jack Defty but Redditch were back on level terms seven minutes into the second half when Jack Byrne was on target.
Whild was pleased with the character shown by his side after they had fallen behind so close to the interval.
"We scored the equaliser which showed that we had a bit about us coming forward," he said.
"That was good because earlier on in the season with the younger lads we might have crumbled a bit.
"But that wasn't the case today which was encouraging," he added.
The point gained at Corby keeps Redditch outside the Blue Square North relegation places and it a boost at the start of an especially tough eight-day period.
Whild will take his side to the leaders Southport on Tuesday 10 November before heading to Fleetwood Town.
The Reds manager appreciates the size of the task facing his squad but he insists they don't fear any club in the division.
"We have started with a result today and we just have to keep doing what we can as we have only got a small squad," he said.
"It is a big challenge for us on Tuesday going up against the team that is top of the league.
"We'll look forward to that rather than going up there intimidated."
