Weymouth chairman Ian Ridley is temporarily stepping down from his role at the Wessex Stadium to undergo treatment for prostate cancer.

Ridley has gone public on his condition to add his support to the Men in Pants charity event taking place in Weymouth.

"I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"I'm starting eight weeks of radiotherapy and I'm very optimistic as anyone diagnosed with this should be. I'm grateful they got it early."
