Wycombe Wanderers manager Peter Taylor is backing one of his former clubs - Dover Athletic - to secure a third successive promotion.

Taylor's League One side were beaten 2-1 in a pre-season friendly by the Whites, who play in Blue Square South.

The ex-Gillingham boss, 56, told BBC Radio Kent: "They've had a couple of good promotions.

"The way they're going now, they're definitely on the right road to getting back up to the Blue Square Premier."

Taylor, who was in charge at the Crabble between 1995-96, added: "I think the area's a really good area for football.

"They've got great support. And if (manager) Andy Hessenthaler carries on bringing the right players in, I think they'll have a very good season again."
