Vodkat League weekend round-up

Non-league football

AFC Fylde suffered a blow to their promotion hopes in the latest round of fixtures in the Vodkat League.

A goalless draw at home to Newcastle Town in the Premier Division saw the Lancashire side drop to second behind new leaders New Mills.

While Fylde were being held, New Mills cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over Ramsbottom United.

Elsewhere, a late goal rush saw Bacup Borough earn a well deserved 4-1 win at Runcorn Linnets.

The game was goalless until the 67th minute, and then two goals from Tommy Turner and one each from Steve Smith and Sean Roscoe saw Borough through to a convincing win.

Colne earned a good 3-1 win at home to sixth-placed Ashton Athletic.

Two early goals from Andy Tinker and a late effort from Liam Blades sealed victory for Nigel Coates's side.

Pendle neighbours Nelson fought back from two goals down to earn a point at home to Winsford United, Krystian Liptrott scoring both goals for the Blues.

In Division One, Padiham's promotion hopes suffered a blow with a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Norton United. Three goals down inside 47 minutes, Padiham hit back with strikes from Mike Holt and Robbie Smith but the visitors held on for victory.

After going a goal down in the third minute at Wigan Robin Park, an equaliser from Lee Turner and a second-half effort from Tony Roscoe earned Darwen a good 2-1 win.

A goal in each half sent AFC Blackpool to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of promotion-chasing Bootle.
