Workington Reds moved to within a point of top-half Vauxhall Motors after a 3-1 win against King's Lynn in Blue Square North on Saturday.
On-loan Carlisle striker Andy Cook notched a brace, while Callum Ruttledge added a third goal to seal only a second victory in five games.
The Linnets had to wait until 81 minutes for their consolation, striker Jack Defty bundling home from close in.
Reds are home to Stalybridge on Saturday, the final game of the season.
Meanwhile Lee Andrews and Kyle May have signed new two-year contracts.
