Braintree Town have appointed Dagenham & Redbridge assistant manager Robbie Garvey as their new boss.
He takes over from midfielder Bradley Quinton, who has been in temporary charge of the Iron since the departure of Lee Patterson last November.
Garvey, who has been with the Daggers since 2003, will continue to look after their academy side until the end of the current season.
Braintree currently sit in 13th place in the Blue Square South.
"I feel it's a good time for me and it's a good club to jump to," Garvey told BBC Essex.
"Braintree have a good set-up and the chairman and the board work very hard, they've got a good fan-base and have some decent players there."
Garvey hinted he would not be afraid to make significant changes to the current playing staff before the start of next season.
"It's really down to them to show me who to keep to take into next year and what I'll need to do during the summer to build it up," he explained.

"I'll be looking to change the way the side are in terms of their age - we'll be looking for a lot more youngsters.
"But that's something the boys need to show me whether I need to do that or keep faith with them.
Garvey's first game in charge will be their away trip to Bath City on Saturday.
