Joachim could remain with Linnets

King's Lynn striker Julian Joachim has said he would be willing to stay with the Blue Square North outfit for another season.

The 34-year-old former England under-21 international joined the Linnets in June 2008.

He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I've only signed until the end of the season, but I'll be willing to sign another contract here if it's available.

"I've not got any plans of retiring just yet."

Joachim, who came off the bench to score the winner in Lynn's 1-0 win against Stalybridge on Saturday, joined the club in June 2008.

After a 16-year career in the Football League, the former Leicester, Aston Villa and Leeds man said he struggled to adapt to life as a part-time footballer.

"When you're only training once or twice a week it's pretty hard going really," said Joachim.

"It's something you get used to, and in the latter part of the season you get into the swing of things and you adapt to it," he added.

Finances may be the only thing standing in the way of another King's Lynn contract for Joachim, after the club recently asked players and management to take a 30% wage cut after the withdrawal of a major financial backer.
