Blyth Spartans 2-0 AFC Telford

Rob Smith has reached his 'lowest point' as Telford boss after Tuesday night's defeat at Blyth Spartans.

Coming on top of last week's defeat at Vauxhall Motors and in the FA Trophy against York City, it was the Bucks' third straight 2-0 reverse.

"This has been a horrendous three weeks for me personally, probably the lowest I've been at the club," said Smith.

"We don't look like scoring at the moment. That's a massive problem for us," Smith told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Two goals inside the first half hour at Croft Park sentenced Telford to defeat.

Marc Walton hit the first before Robbie Dale's 26th minute penalty. And Martyn Naylor's late sending-off has simply added to Smith's selection worries.

But it is in front of goal where Telford are having most problems. And top of Smith's shopping list is still a new striker.

Andy Brown (foot) and Danny Carey-Bertram (hamstring) are both carrying injuries, while Terry Fearns is still suspended.

"We've been looking for two or three weeks," said Smith. "It's very difficult to get the right player."

Telford remain fourth in the Blue Square North, 11 points behind leaders Gateshead with three games in hand, but, more importantly, still five points clear of the teams chasing the play-off pack.

But they will have to turn their attentions back to the Trophy again on Saturday when they head for Bootham Crescent looking to overturn that semi-final first-leg deficit against York (1500 GMT).
