York City have the advantage going into the second leg of the FA Trophy semi-final with AFC Telford United after Saturday's 2-0 win.
Simon Rusk gave the visitors the lead at the New Bucks Head before Ben Purkiss added the second on 68 minutes.
The hosts had a goal disallowed in the second half but City deserved the win.
The second leg takes place on Saturday (21 March) at Kitkat Crescent, the winners meeting either Stevenage or Ebbsfleet in the final at Wembley.
Stevenage will take a one-goal advantage to Kent for next week's second leg after David Bridges' late header earned a 3-2 first-leg victory.
