Richard Dryden was pleased with his side's second-half performance.

Craig Wilding struck after 68 minutes of a largely forgettable match to earn Worcester City all three points in a 1-0 win at Fisher Athletic.

The City manager Richard Dryden told BBC Hereford and Worcester this had not been a great spectacle.

"The first half was horrible with the sun right in the eyes of our back four," he said.

"But in the second half straight from the kick off we've closed the ball down and worked hard and deserved our win."

After that poor first-half showing by both clubs City did step things up after the interval and they were rewarded when Craig Wilding netted the winner.

Wilding admitted he was pleased to have been granted a second chance after missing a gilt-edged opportunity to put City in front only two minutes earlier.

"I wasn't aware if I was on-side or not, I just tried to finish it," he said.

"The ball seemed to take quite a while to come down and I was disappointed [not to have scored].

"But a couple of minutes later I got the ball over the line so that made up for it."

Dryden added: "They did well as their formation and personnel changes a lot as their players are not getting paid."

"We came into the game absolutely blind as I thought they were going to play three at the back and they played four-four-two.

"They changed it around and I looked at their team sheet from when we played them at home and there is not one single player on there who is still with them."

Worcester City are likely to face a much tougher test on Tuesday, 24 February when they will make the trip to the Blue Square South leaders AFC Wimbledon.
