Worcester City 1-0 Bromley

Gary Walker's strike eight minutes before half-time proved enough for Worcester City as they completed a league double over Bromley.

City manager Richard Dryden told BBC Hereford & Worcester his side had thoroughly deserved the victory.

"They have worked hard and while sometimes the quality is not always there, we put balls in good areas.

"We more than got our rewards, really, as we had a few good chances in the first half to seal it."

Walker took advantage of Bromley's failure to clear their lines when he seized on a loose ball at the edge of the area to drive home.

The back four were fantastic as were the people in front of them in what was a good all-round performance

City had first-half appeals for a penalty turned down but, despite dominating for long periods in the first half, they were unable to impose themselves in the second period.

Dryden admitted his side saw less of the ball after the break and he was a relieved man at the final whistle.

"You see it week-in, week-out in this league when you go in 1-0 at half-time," he said.

"We didn't sit on our laurels although they pinned us back a bit [in the second half] but 1-0 in this league is very edgy."

Worcester City goalkeeper Danny McDonnell did not have a great deal to do as while Bromley played neat football, they seldom tested the him.

"That's down to the people in front of Danny as well as him coming and catching crosses," Dryden added.

"He is a different class as nothing has really dropped out of his hands all season.

"The back four were fantastic as were the people in front of them in what was a good all-round performance."
