Mansell Wallace has been confirmed as the new chairman of Blue Square South side Chelmsford City.
Wallace was voted in by the Clarets' board on Thursday night to fill the post vacated by Peter Webb.
Webb stepped down last week amid a dispute over the club's finances but will remain as a director.
Wallace said he was committed to sustaining the current budget as the club strive for promotion to the Blue Square Premier.
He also wants to forge better links with the ladies, community and youth teams.
