Burton Albion took another step towards promotion to League Two with victory over Rushden & Diamonds.

Albion took the lead when John McGrath latched onto Greg Pearson's clever pass and found the net from inside the area.

A minute after the break Ryan Austin doubled the lead when he drilled home a cracking effort from 20 yards.

Shaun Harrad rounded off the scoring with a close-range effort after a neat cross from Marc Goodfellow to secure a 15th win in 16 league games for Burton.
