Team Bath 0-2 Worcester City

Worcester City manager Richard Dryden was delighted with his side's battling 2-0 Blue Square South win at Team Bath.

Dryden said his team deserved a lot of credit for the way they had coped with the conditions.

He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "They're a big, strong, fit side and they're full-time, so they worked us really hard.

"We knew it was going to be a tough match, but there were no weak links at all in our play today."

City went into the match as clear underdogs as they had not won in the league since 6 December, while Team Bath were in the play-off spots.

But Dryden's side took an 11th-minute lead when Marco Adaggio netted his second goal in as many games.

Team Bath enjoyed plenty of possession but seldom troubled Danny McDonnell in the City goal.

Rob Davies' long-range free kick on the hour gave City some much-needed breathing space and they were able to close out the game without too many defensive alarms.

City's financial problems mean that Dryden is having to rely more on players coming through the youth system and he was pleased with their performances.

"There's people like Jamie Price and Jordan Fitzpatrick who have been getting frustrated as they have been training and then just being on the bench," he said.

"But we always said that everyone would get their chance and they have.

"Rob Davies has played 60 minutes, Jordan Fitzpatrick has played a lot of the game and Jamie Price has played all 90 minutes tonight and, fair play to him, he has kept himself pretty fit."

Worcester are back at St George's Lane for another Blue Square South fixture on Saturday against Bishop's Stortford.

There will be regular updates on their progress in Sport on Saturday (1400 GMT) on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
